Soft drink surcharge
In an effort to help with the “fight against obesity” San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom submitted a proposal applying a financial deterrent to drinks with high fructose corn syrup.
Being none too happy with this, the American Beverage Association made a statement in response… and rather than trying to defend themselves in any way, shape or form, they took the lazy, yet more popular route of shifting the blame….
